The future of the Montecarlo and Scorpion is now assured. Thanks to the Monte Hospital, parts availability is better than it has been since the early 1980s, before Lancia themselves ceased to support the cars. Of course all of this is only possible with your continued support, and support is a two-way affair. With your help and encouragement over the years we have grown to meet your needs, and we can now supply 100% of the parts you ask for in 90% of all the enquiries we receive. We may never get to meet 100% of every requirement but we are certainly trying to! During the fifteen years that the Monte Hospital has been in existence we have always tried to pursue a policy of improvement to our service and expansion of our product range. Over the years this has proved most successful, so successful in fact that we realised we needed to expand. In 2005 company founder Chad Eyton Williams and his wife Dinah were joined by Rod and Linda Shipley, both long-time Montecarlo enthusiasts, to help improve the service that was being provided by The Monte Hospital. With less time being needed on the sales and marketing side, Chad was able to focus on his first love, manufacturing and development, and also to plan his longer-term future. Finally in 2007 we took the plunge and relocated The Monte Hospital from Chad's original base at his home in Herefordshire to 1000 square feet of dedicated premises located in central southern England, between the cathedral town of Salisbury in Wiltshire and Shaftesbury in Dorset. At the same time Chad sold the company to Rod & Linda, and set up a small manufacturing operation (Monte Bits) so that he could continue to supply and develop parts. This has allowed him the luxury of semi-retirement whilst guaranteeing that our full range of spares will continue to be available thanks to a unique agreement between the two companies. This arrangement will also allow Chad to concentrate on the introduction of additional parts to fill the gap as stocks from our existing suppliers become exhausted. He will still be available for advice on technical matters, however being freed from answering e-mails and telephone calls means he will be able to devote a lot more time to parts manufacture and development. It is his intention to continue with the special manufacturing projects that he has run in the past such as brake fluid reservoirs and drop glass seals, and there are many more parts under consideration for future projects.
